About the Farmer

Ann Sutton aka Farmer Gale

I have been farming for 9 years on a small intensive operation. Embarked on this journey on rented land in 2012 and relocated the farm to Prince Georges County Maryland in 2018. This allowed us to be closer to our markets, and set down roots in a permanent location. I have been passionate about food all my life and farming provides the opportunity to share this with my community. I believe everyone should have access to the highest quality and freshest produce available. I take responsibility as a farmer to make an impact-full contribution to the community I serve. Building a sustainable farm that contributes to the solution where the community wines and is improved.

Our Team

Mama Desiree

Mama Dee is Ann's mother and a famous fixture on the weekend farmer's market scene! She is known for her much-in-demand sauces and cuisine. Mama Dee is from Guyana and as the new adage goes: Immigrants--we get the job done!

Jermaine

Jermaine is Ann's loyal stern assistant manager. He's present, trustworthy and very cute.

Star and Moon

Star & Moon are brother and sister Great Pyrenees Mountain dogs. They are heads of security at Deep Roots, sworn to protect, be cute, and only cause a little mischief.
